Best Practices

It is important to understand the distinction between your subjects and the subjects open to you:

  • If a contact wishes to communicate with you, they are choosing from your list of subjects. That is to say, the subjects you see in your Subjects menu item (Business, Personal, etc.) are visible to your contacts.

  • Conversely, if you wish to communicate with a contact, you must choose from a list of their subjects. Their subjects need not be consistent with your subjects, making one-way communication possible.

  • It is always good practice to check on your contacts’ open subjects. This is possible through contact profiles within the Contacts menu item.
